Make every moment count
The series
Last month I introduced you to a new series in What’s Happening? Called Making Every Moment Count. It’s about getting more out of life both personally and professionally
It’s different, new and real. If it helps you achieve more in any area of your life over the coming months then this series will have achieved its objective. I hope you enjoy.
So, what do people do that stops them from Making Every Moment Count? Sometimes they are conscious sometimes they are not.
This month I am going to briefly explore two of the seven in this series.
Not Participating
This is about taking a passive or apathetic role or position. Parts of the Australian public are great examples of taking an inactive or passive role in politics. Yet as one seat in the past federal election indicated a member won by only 80 odd votes. Actively participating in the process can make a difference.
How does this show in your workplace?
Being a Problem
This is about creating road blocks. In my consulting experience within various workplaces I have seen that these barriers are usually created out of fear. Fear of demonstrating limited knowledge, fear of what change might bring, many different fears.
This is your opportunity to spend 2 minutes reflecting!!
When have you demonstrated either or both of these?
What would you have gained if you have not done them?
What do you need to do differently next time to make every moment count?
Next month I’ll discuss sugar and spice, and being the judge and jury. |
Personally Speaking
Some very switched-on clients at St George/BankSA, Beiersdorf and Fairfax. A very exciting and interesting month!
This year I will be taking leave during July, so if you are planning your training or management consulting services for next financial year it may be a good idea to meet up in May or June so that I can guarantee you time.
A big response to our office furniture last month! Glad to help. If you are looking for office stuff let me know before we advertise this week.
‘Til next month.
Kind regards,
Sam
