A Man With a Dream....not Apathy
Last month I attended a ‘seminar’ where the Reverend Bernice King (that is Dr Martin Luther King’s daughter), spoke.
At question time, a man from the audience asked her how he should deal with an apathetic Australian public.
She responded that her father stood in Washington in 1962 before 600,000 people and said ‘I have a dream….’
Those same people were not there when he started his civil rights campaign in 1955, 56, 57, 58, 59 or 60. But they were there because of his dream and they were there when they were ready.
He could not control when they followed him, he could only control his dream and the action he took to get there.
What was reinforced within me was that when we encourage people to take action, to strive for their dream (at the same time remembering it didn’t happen over night for Martin Luther King) they and we, can use our personal power to change the face of our worlds. (a short sentence!) |
It's a Happening Month
If you are out and about in Sydney this month check us out at the MindBodySpirit Festival. Our focus is Mind Body and Spirit in the corporate world.
If you are still interested in our two public programs in May (How to get what you want - Professional Success Program and A self discovery workshop – Myers Briggs Type Indicator Program) please call me ASAP as we have an earlybird benefit when you book by 16 April, 1999.
If you are attending with someone or sending two or more people, we have organised a group discount which may assist you too.
Personally Speaking
I like to focus on the future and treat yesterday as my apprenticeship to life. Today I am stopping to smell the roses. Happening People is more than two years old and hey, I have I learnt so much. So much has come true too, everything I had planned. In addition to our corporate consulting, this year we started our public programs and personal development tools. The response has been excellent. Thank you. Kind regards
